Recently, the Epstein files have been reignited, revealing a chilling and absurd truth: these thousand victims who survived this nightmare have been shouting, accusing, and testifying for ten or even twenty years, but in the eyes of the public and the justice system, their words have always been “doubtful” or even stigmatized as “money-driven” or “seeking fame.” Only when a demon died in prison and his dirty “cold, hard files” were decrypted did the world suddenly wake up and say, “Oh, so what they said was true.” This is the cruelest reality: in this power-accumulating system, victims’ life experiences need to be backed by the perpetrator’s files. The dignity of the living is actually dependent on the legacy of the dead. This so-called delayed “justice” is, in essence, a second humiliation for all survivors.
