🔥HOT: A man in the UK has sued his wife on suspicion that she used an in-home camera to capture his seed phrase and then stole 2,000 #Bitcoin from him
A notable case has emerged where a husband in the UK filed a lawsuit against his wife on suspicion of transferring over 2,000 $BTC, equivalent to approximately 170 million USD at current prices. According to court documents, the wife is accused of using an in-home camera system to record the cold wallet recovery phrase, then conducting transactions without consent.
This amount of assets is said to have been dispersed across multiple blockchain addresses and remained largely inactive for an extended period, making verification and tracing extremely complex. The defendant argues that traditional legal regulations are difficult to apply to digital assets; however, the court has allowed the lawsuit to proceed based on other legal grounds.
This case highlights the increasingly apparent challenges as the legal system must adapt to digital assets, while also serving as a reminder about wallet information security, particularly the recovery phrase, a critical factor determining asset control rights.
