Trump Claims Extension of Attack Pause Against Iran for 10 Days

President Donald Trump officially announced a postponement of the plan to destroy energy facilities in Iran for the next 10 days, until Monday, April 6, 2026. This decision is an extension of the previous ceasefire period, which was only set for 5 days. In his official statement on Thursday (26/3), Trump said this step was taken in response to a direct request from the Iranian government to allow room for ongoing negotiations.
Trump emphasized that discussions between the two sides have shown positive progress so far. He also denied rumors from some parties claiming that the negotiations have hit a dead end. With the additional time until early April, the main focus now is on the results of diplomatic talks before the 10-day deadline ends at 8:00 PM local time.
This move is seen as a de-escalation signal in the Middle East region, which has raised global concerns in recent weeks. Analysts are now monitoring whether this second attack pause will lead to a permanent agreement or simply serve as a preparatory period before new escalation. Trump himself stated he will continue to monitor the situation intensively to ensure strategic interests remain protected during this postponement.
