Remember when everyone was calling for a bullish crypto market heading into year-end? Yeah, that aged well.
I was scrolling through the archives and noticed something wild - all those predictions about explosive gains, the fireworks, the bullish sentiment everywhere. Then reality hit different. What was supposed to be crypto's victory lap turned into an absolute bloodbath instead.
It's actually kind of fascinating how quickly narratives flip in this space. You had analysts painting this bullish crypto market picture, talking about institutional adoption, regulatory clarity, all the usual talking points. The vibe was genuinely optimistic. But the market had other plans.
The thing is, this isn't even that surprising if you've been around long enough. We see this pattern repeat - expectations build up, everyone gets caught in the bullish momentum, and then when reality doesn't match the hype, it corrects hard. Sometimes violently.
What's interesting now is watching how the market digests what happened. The initial shock of that crash wears off, and people start asking harder questions about what actually went wrong with the bullish crypto market thesis that was being pushed. Was it overlevered positions? Macro headwinds? Just pure speculation running out of steam?
Either way, it's a good reminder that crypto still moves on sentiment and narrative more than fundamentals sometimes. The bullish case looked solid on paper until it didn't. That's the game we're playing.
