These days, I've been seeing the narratives of "parallel" and "sharding" again, and it's quite lively, but my first reaction isn't TPS, but: if something really happens, how do I withdraw my assets? To put it plainly, no matter how fast the chain is, where the data is stored, who can replay it, whether the challenge period is smooth, or if the bridge breaks, can it self-rescue—these are the prerequisites for being able to sleep peacefully.
The wave of memes and celebrity shoutouts that shift attention is also quite funny and frustrating: on one hand, telling myself not to get caught up, and on the other, watching newcomers rush in to take the final baton... Anyway, I'm now more willing to spend time looking at exit strategies and failure modes. Slow is slow, but at least it doesn't build "speed" on the premise of "can't run."
