Tether CTO Says USDT Will Not Be Affected by PayPal PYUSD Stablecoin Launch
Tether's CTO, Paolo Ardoino, stated that the launch of PayPal's stablecoin, PYUSD, in the U.S. will not impact Tether's USDT stablecoin since Tether does not serve the U.S. market. However, Ardoino believes that if PYUSD launches in international markets, it could have a positive impact on the crypto industry and potentially erode revenues for payment giants like MasterCard and Visa. Additionally, the launch of PYUSD may also impact Tether's competition, such as Circle's USDC stablecoin.
