Bonuses on Wall Street as before the crisis
Executives of the largest US banks are once again receiving compensation exceeding $40 million, the highest since the 2008 crisis.
Details:
▶️ Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon — $47 million
▶️ Citigroup CEO Jane Fraser — $42 million
▶️ Bank of America CEO Brian Moynihan — $41 million
The increase in payouts is linked to a successful year for banks, driven by high earnings from trading, lending, and deals. However, unlike in 2007, current compensation is more tightly regulated following reforms implemented after the financial crisis.
